Multiple rescues were reported Thursday afternoon in the northern part of Los Angeles County following severe thunderstorms that produced mudslides and flash flooding.

The National Weather Service in predicting flash floods Thursday night advised residents in low-lying ares to move to higher ground.

In the Antelope Valley area, three Paramedic helicopters were rescuing people as mudflows covered cars and stranded residents. The storms closed multiple highways including the 5 Freeway.
